PINK ARMCHAIR PROJECT

The Pink Armchair Project is a dynamic art initiative developed as an expansion of my earlier painting series, Pink Armchair Portraits. This ongoing project features rapidly drawn portraits of participants using a sharpie marker on linocut-printed paper. Each portrait is completed in under seven minutes, uniting diverse individuals through art and creating an evolving archive of Jersey City residents.

To streamline this new iteration, I collaborated with Bruno Nadalin of the Jersey City Printroom at Elevator to produce linocut prints of the chair. These pre-printed sheets serve as the canvas for each portrait, allowing me to focus on the subject and complete the work efficiently. The project has hosted multiple events in my studio and is now expanding to outside venues across New Jersey, with future aspirations to bring the Pink Armchair Project to New York City and Los Angeles.
