
Infamous outsider food critic and culinary firebrand, Max Roché goes undercover on stealth missions to review NYC's top restaurants.

Max Roché was sculpted in clay and then cast in foam rubber. After doing sketches and modeling the head in clay, I turned it all over to puppet fabricator Sal Denaro. Sal worked his magic, casting Max in light weight foam to be ready for action.

The Million Puppet March was a grassroots rally organized during the 2012 Presidential campaign in support of public media. When I heard it was being planned, I created puppet news reporter Jim Sternwell to cover the event. Getting to DC from NY was an adventure in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

Directed by brothers Ben Fine and Jon Fine, the clever clip for "Dirty Money" follows Muppet-like characters through the aftermath of the financial crisis. Antibalas lead singer Amayo looks down from a helicopter as the band delivers some intensely limber grooves.

I had difficulty finding the interview Jim Sternwell did with Stuffing but Thankfully I found a still.
